ABOUT ME
I'm Running for Congress in 2026
Laura Jones is a lifelong Texan, Army mom, and small business owner who has seen firsthand the challenges facing working families. Here are some of her stances:
Education: Rising childcare costs are pushing women out of the workforce, forcing families to rely on a single income and weakening our economy. At the same time, no one should have to go tens of thousands of dollars into debt for an education—investing in accessible education and childcare strengthens families, grows our economy, and fuels American innovation.

Living Wage: The minimum wage has been stagnant since 2009, and it’s long past time for change. We should not only raise it, but tie it to the cost of living. Anyone working 40 hours a week should be able to afford the bare essentials where they live—a roof over their head, water, gas, electricity, and food.

Healthcare: Access to healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege tied to a job or the size of a paycheck. The only real way to bring down costs is to bring everyone into the system and allow the government to negotiate prices. By doing so, we can cut out the middlemen who profit off people being sick and make care affordable for everyone.

LGBTQ+ Rights: Everyone deserves to live openly, safely, and without discrimination—no matter who they love or how they identify. Protecting LGBTQ+ communities strengthens our democracy and affirms the dignity and freedom of all people.
