Defending the indefensible

Want to have some fun? The kind of fun that requires a big bowl of popcorn?

Well, in the next few days, let's keep an eye on Jessica Steinmann, as she tries to rationalize and excuse Trump's outrageous response to the recent, BI-PARTISAN passage of the Housing Act.

In case you're unfamiliar with this thing, here's the situation: Over the last several months, Republicans and Democrats actually worked together to write and pass a bill that would reduce the cost of housing in this country. It was all set to be signed by the president of the United States, when, at the very last moment, he literally refused to sign it.

Now, here's the fun part: MAGA-mom Jess is between a rock and a hard place. She's already told us that she'll stand by Trump, no matter what. That's on the one hand. On the other hand, she KNOWS that Trump's behavior is absolutely inexcusable.

So, how will she play this? My prediction is that she’ll try to gaslight you into thinking that Trump did a GOOD thing; that it's right and proper to make housing relief depend on the passage of some other, unrelated legislation.

What other option does she have? She may be unprincipled, but she's not dumb. It's the office that she wants, not the ability to solve your problems.
