Conservatism: What does it conserve?

Lawyer Jessica likes to claim that she's a "Texas Tough Conservative", but... what does that mean, exactly?
As an old English Major, I think it's fair to say that a conservative is someone who wants to conserve.
To capture the essence of that word, let me offer two aphorisms. (According to Google: "An aphorism is a short, concise statement that expresses a general truth, wise concept, or moral principle."
Aphorism #1: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Aphorism #2: "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water."
These two sentences are at the heart of true conservative thinking.
The first one means: Treasure the things that really work in life. Don't "improve" something if it's serving us well, as is.
The second one means: There's a difference between the good stuff that you want to keep vs. the bad stuff that you want to discard. Don't forget about this difference as you rush to try something different.
Now, consider the very first sentence on the Issues page of Steinmann's website:
"We have a once-in-a-generation chance to create real, lasting change in Washington that will make life better, safer, and happier under President Trump’s leadership."
Since Lawyer Jessica is TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP, all the way every day, I guess we have to evaluate HIS initiatives as a proxy for what SHE wants to do, if elected.
Well... where to begin? You already know how many norms he's demolished -- things that weren't broken, but now are because he tried to "fix them". (Indeed, he literally said "Only I can fix it" many times on the campaign trail.)
I'll leave it there for you, District 8. You KNOW IN YOUR HEART that Trump doesn't care about the many things that really do work in this country -- things that are tried and true; things that we can be proud of.
Trump has thrown the bath water AND the baby right out the window more times than any of us can count.
And THIS is what Jessica Steinmann says that she'll support? Shameful. Truly, a false conservative if there ever was one.
